Successfully Hiring the Services of A Black Mold Expert

Mold ExpertThough it is easy to talk about getting a professional black mold expert to accomplish the diagnosis and treatment of your house for pernicious strains of fungi, getting good services for your money will need your careful attention. In most countries, the US included, no government regulations have been enacted regarding the services provided by Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) experts, which, by the way, is the formal way to refer to mold experts. In the absence of protection from the government, private individuals need to know the important precautions to take before submitting their homes for evaluation and treatment.

As always, ask around for the opinion of friends

The best resource you will have for recommendations and feedback will be your own friends who have had their homes treated. You can rely better on the suggestions of people who are concerned about you or whom you can fault for having given you incorrect suggestions. If you cannot avail of this type of assistance then you should do your research on the internet. Ferret out sites that provide customer feedback about the different establishments engaged in those services. You should choose those outfits for which the feedback is detailed and favorable. If it is at all possible, contact the persons who supplied the feedback. That shouldn't be difficult if you know the full name of the person and the gender (which can be implied by the name).

Interview the mold expert

Before you sign any agreement with an IAQ specialist, you should have done your own research about black mold and other types of fungi. You ought to be familiar with the locations that they prefer to build their colonies in and the various means for preventing their growth and exterminating them from your house. You need to realize that those facts are not difficult to comprehend and that the only reason you are hiring professional exterminators is that you won't usually have the right equipment and chemicals to safely and efficiently go about that yourself.

Make sure that your prospective expert knows exactly what he is saying. Ask him to elaborate on things that you know already. Listen carefully to his logic in pursuing his explanations. If there are inconsistencies that you detect, pursue them further. You can't risk putting the welfare of your house in the hands of people who are pretending to be something they are not.

Ask about his previous experience and if possible, ask him to provide documented proof of any claims that he may make.

Learn about how he intends to go about his work

You should also be aware of how he proposes to conduct his business. Ask him for a scheduled breakdown of the activities needed. Learn about what each step in the process entails. If there are activities that you wish to modify, inform him so that he can think up a substitute method, if possible. Get information about possibly toxic substances that he will be using and ask him about the precautions that you should be taking for ensuring the safety of the people and the pets living in your home.

In short, before you even begin to look for a black mold control professional, you will need to be reasonably familiar with the process. As was mentioned, you can expect no help in the matter of your rights from anyone but your own self in this matter.

What is the cause of a lung nodule 3-4mm?
I am a 33y/o f, who unfortunately smokes (again) who has resp problems. Yes, i know, i'm working on quitting again. I am a mild asthmatic, have recentyl discovered black mold in bedroom walls and am wondering if there's a link. I had a CT scan in dec. which revealed the nodule. My MD has not addressed this with me yet. I have a copy of my report. Any way, i do have breathing issues especially when i go to bed. I wake up gasping for air or am afraid to sleep because i can't breath correctly. I'm not a mold expert, would this contribute? My hubby and I will be ripping out the walls soon but he can't find where this is coming from. Please don't preach about smoking, i am quitting. I am a med professional and know the health risks. I am human.
